Baby is the size of a peach at 14 weeks pregnant, measuring 3.4 inches and weighing in at 1.5 ounces. Baby has almost doubled in weight since last week, and keeps on growing at super speed at week 14. Baby's wiggling his toes in there and may even be thumb sucking. A 14-week fetus’ kidneys are making urine, and the liver and spleen are doing their jobs too. Baby at 14 weeks is growing lanugo, a thin, peach fuzz-like hair, all over to help keep the body warm.
How far along? 14 weeks (and 2 days, actually)
Weight gain/loss: Not sure. I am trying to limit my knowledge in this department.
Sleep? So far so good. Frequent potty breaks, but that's nothing new.
Best moment this week?Saturday morning yoga yesterday felt great. I really love the instructor on Saturdays and I haven't been on a Saturday for a while. It felt great to start the weekend that way. While I am definitely starting to modify some poses I can still do a lot. Yesterday I rocked a fabulous side plank on both sides and I can still pull off crow for a short period of time. So I'm pretty happy with that, even if I am no longer allowed to do the crunches.
Movement:Nothing. I think last week was just dinner. Haha. Maybe next week.
Food cravings: Fruit and salad and chips and dip. Maybe I'm just hungry.
What I miss? Energy. Taking the kids to do one simple errand feels like a monumental task these days.
What I am looking forward to? I am having someone come look at Joaquin's closet this week. He has an enormous walk in closet the size of a small bedroom and it needs customization now that he will be sharing the room with his brother. Hopefully we can get this done fast and relatively cost-effectively. Then I can begin pulling out the baby boy clothes I still have and getting them ready.
Milestones: I already mentioned that I am not in the second trimester, which is a good milestone. I can't really think of much else right now.
What I'm nervous about: Jay is going on a trip to Costa Rica this Tuesday through Sunday. A bunch of his friends are turning 40 this year (including Jay) so this is the big birthday trip. I'm a little nervous about being solo with the kids all week. I foresee a lot of cereal and protein drinks in their future.
