Ticker Change Thursday - 15 Weeks
Noemi is 15 weeks now! Continuing the march towards normal proportions, her legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Noemi is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though I still can't feel the movements.
How far along? 15 Weeks Today
Weight gain/loss: I'm not entirely sure. Maybe 8-10 pounds. I will find out Monday for sure.
Maternity clothes? For certain items (jeans) I need maternity, but I'm wearing a full outfit of non-maternity clothes today, which is exciting.
Sleep? So far so good. I haven't reached the point of only side sleeping yet, which is nice.
Best moment this week? Hearing Joaquin say almost all of his ABC's. So cute.
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: Burgers and soup.
Gender: GIRL!! We wanted to know so badly that we went to an independent lab to get an ultrasound on Saturday to find out the gender. It was only $25 so we figured, what the heck? What a great idea. The tech was very confident in her determination and said "you can start shopping now." Haha. Like I needed permission ;-)
Belly button in or out? In.
What I miss? Wine.
What I am looking forward to? 4th of July. A day off mid-week will be nice. I hope I don't end up having to work!
Milestones: Finding out the gender this week. That was HUGE.
What I'm nervous about: How the heck are we going to fit this baby in our home?

BIG NEWS!!

We have been keeping relatively quiet lately but we have big news.
Joaquin is going to be a big brother! More specifically, he is going to have a little sister. We are so excited we can finally talk about it.
Those of you who have been around for a while probably remember that I was "out" about my pregnancy with Joaquin much earlier. Well... things changed since then. First of all, I had another miscarriage earlier this year. Additionally, a few people from my office know about this blog and I didn't want the news to spread at work before I was ready. And, let's be honest, between work and family, I have just been crazy busy these days.
So, here's all of the important information so far:
1) I had my NT Scan a couple of weeks ago and everything looked great. It was a huge relief.
2) I am due on December 20, 2012. I am hopeful we can make it at least a few days into December for this one.
3) Starting in about a week, I will be getting weekly shots of a drug called McKenna (or maybe Makenna, I should probably know this), which my OB has prescribed to help prevent another pre-term birth (see #2 above). I hope it works, because it doesn't sound very fun.
4) We confirmed over the weekend that we are having a girl.
5) Her name is: NOEMI REBECCA
Last of all --- YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited and feel so incredibly lucky to be welcoming another baby into our home. We will worry about where to fit her in our tiny house in a few months ;-)
Love, Melissa
